LDS baptism in 1840; immigration to America, 1850; arrival in Salt Lake Valley, 1850; ordination to the office of seventy; call to England on a mission, 1857; became a U.S. citizen in 1857; remainder of journal contains missionary experiences and travel experiences in Europe.
